Eligibility
Families who are new to the District should register their children for school following the steps below.
Children may begin school at Wheatland-Chili before they reside in the District if their parents or guardians are in the process of establishing residence in the District and that process can be verified through records.
School personnel may give your children tests to determine the best classroom placement and courses for them. The school will make arrangements for the transfer of your children’s records from their former school after you sign a release form.
Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration
Children who turn 4 years old on or before December 1 are eligible to enter pre-K in September of the same year. Children who turn 5 years old on or before December 1 are eligible to enter kindergarten in September of the same year.
Registration information for both grades will be mailed to families in the beginning of January and registration appointments will be scheduled the last week of January. Families will be given an appointment for screening in March. Information nights for incoming pre-K and kindergarten families will be held in May. Please check the online calendar for specific dates and times.
Registering a School-Aged Student

Before you begin the registration form, please gather the following documents to submit. You must upload scanned copies of these documents to our secure upload website to complete registration.
- Proof of a student’s address (mortgage statement, rental or lease agreement, tax receipt)
- Documentation of age (birth certificate, a record of baptism, passport)
- Custody, guardianship and/or adoption documents, if applicable
- Record of immunizations and current physical. These may be transferred from your student's current school. This is required for part two of the registration process but may be submitted during part one. Learn more about NYS Immunization requirements at this link.

Download the following fillable registration forms and save them to your computer or mobile device. Complete all pages of the forms, including your email address and your phone number:
- Student Registration Form 2024-2025
- Proof of Residency
- Custody Disclosure
- Student Records Request (Transferring Student)
- SchoolTool Parent Portal Access (Optional)

Once the forms are completed, signed, and saved, click here to navigate to our secure upload page. Upload all the documents listed below:
- Completed and signed student registration packet
- Proof of student’s address
- Documentation of age
- Custody documents
- Any optional forms from above
Step 4
- Book an in-person appointment with our District Registrar by clicking this link.
- Once you have uploaded the documents and booked an in-person appointment, you will receive a confirmation email from the registrar with the next steps for enrolling your student.
