Vote Date, Time and Location
Wheatland-Chili Central School District holds its annual budget vote and board election on the third Tuesday of May in the Middle/High School gym. Polls are typically open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Voter Eligibility
To vote, you must be:
- A citizen of the United States
- At least 18 years of age
- A legal resident within the District for at least 30 days prior to the vote
Residents Unable to Vote Because of Military Service
Residents unable to vote because of military service, as defined under the Commissioner’s Regulation Part 122, may request an application for an absentee ballot if their military service requires them to be absent from the school district in which they are qualified to vote on the day of registration or election. A spouse, parent, child or dependent of a military voter, as described above, accompanying or being with such military voter may also apply for an absentee ballot if a qualified voter of New York state and a resident of the same school district as such military voter.
Absentee ballot applications may be requested from District Clerk Diane Stocking by email at diane_stocking@wheatlandchili.org or by phone at 585-889-6247. Applications must be received by the District Clerk no later than 25 days prior to the day of the vote. In all cases, absentee ballots must be returned to the Central Office no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the vote.
